“The world is your oyster. Cultivate those opportunities that have the potential to become precious pearls versus those that will forever remain just sand.” ~ Nikki Karis
Abundance message about cultivating opportunities that can turn into precious pearls.
So often, we expend our valuable time, energy, and resources pursuing opportunities and relationships that will never bring us the peace, love, happiness, good health, and abundance each of us deserves, yet very few of us actually know how to reach for and embrace. We do this because we lack the self-esteem to realize that certain situations aren’t in our best interest, or because we’re afraid to let go of them and pursue what will fulfill us.
For example, we often involve ourselves in relationships which are less than fulfilling, hoping these relationships will one day cultivate into a precious pearl. Instead of seeing a particular relationship for what it actually is, we often project our desire for what we want it to be, leaving us feeling empty hearted when the relationship doesn’t fulfill our expectations.
While no relationship is ever perfect, we often hang onto relationships because we fear being alone or because we think we have to be in a relationship because society dictates so. We also believe we deserve a relationship which is less than fulfilling because we suffer from a lack of self-esteem brought on by childhood traumas or other negative life experiences. Instead of working on rebuilding our self-esteem and potentially ending the relationship, we remain in it, hoping it will one day bloom into something more than it is at the present moment.
Another example is with regard to our job or career. We continue day in and day out at the same job or on the same career path, unhappy with what we are doing and the results it is yielding. Although we feel dissatisfied, we are afraid to step outside our comfort zone, take a leap of faith, and make a change. We hope and pray that the opportunity before us will eventually yield us a precious pearl when all it will ever do is remain just sand.
Life is so very short and precious. Consequently, the last thing we need to do is to waste days, weeks, months, even years, pursuing opportunities and relationships that will never cultivate into a precious pearl.
Therefore, it’s important that we work on releasing our fears, preconceived ideas, and notions that prevent us from seeing certain situations and relationships for what they really are. By seeing them clearly, we can then make intelligent, informed decisions as to what direction we want to take in our life. We can begin cultivating only those opportunities that truly have the potential of becoming a precious pearl.
The world is, indeed, your oyster!
